How we began

Busy Nought to Fives Nurseries is a long-standing, professional childcare company with many years of excellent service and experience in the childcare industry. The ‘birth’ of Busy Nought to Fives was brought about by the founder of the business Emma Collins.

Established in 1992

Established in 1992, we have been providing quality care for children through private nursery care meeting only the highest standard.

Our team is committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment where you can feel comfortable about leaving your child in the care of well-trained and professional staff, who are not only aware of your child’s needs, but also the needs of you as a parent.

Safe Environment

Opportunity to Develop

Our nurseries and our staff team provide a nurturing environment that will give your child the experiences, encouragement, and opportunity to develop their full potential.

More than just childcare.

We aim to provide an environment where children are safe and secure, but also one in which they can develop, grow, and acquire social skills. We focus on the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and provide an extensive curriculum to support this. As part of our ongoing commitment, we also provide parents with regular detailed updates on their child’s progress.

Our nurseries are beautifully equipped and regularly maintained to a high standard, with large airy rooms, as well as spacious and well-equipped outdoor play areas which we believe to be an integral part of your child’s development. Our large outdoor play areas are a speciality allowing great access to extended outdoor play and adventures.

We provide healthy mealtimes and snacks throughout the day. Our food is made fresh daily by qualified chefs and all of our kitchens have been accredited with a 5-star rating from Environmental Health.

Outdoor play is also an important part of their day, all of which supports their development. Outdoor play is also an important part of their day with a range of equipment to enhance their skills. All sleep, feeds and nappy changes are recorded and this information is relayed to you on a daily basis.

  • Toddler Rooms

At this age children are becoming more independent and we encourage this through a programme of activities planned by the staff that draws upon their detailed knowledge of the children and deliver structured plans through play, incorporating both indoor and outdoor activities. Art & craft, baking and messy activities are provided in designated ‘wet play’ areas. Number shape and letter recognition are encouraged through stories, singing and play.

  • Pre-School Rooms

The Pre-School rooms are dedicated learning environments with extended learning through play within the Early Years Foundation Stage. We encourage parents and carers to keep us up to date with the children’s experiences outside of nursery for us to feed these into planning activities around the children’s interests.

Wide Range of Activities

We plan activities in the short, medium and long term to ensure that your child will experience a wide variety of themes and topics which can be explored both indoor and outdoor. Activities are structured so that your child can explore and experiment through play, initiating their own learning.
